Why Writing Works

Disciplinary Approaches to Composing Texts

Documentation in Special Education

By Professor LeAnne Syring

The American Psychological Association (APA) format is the required format for papers in education. Documentation in papers require citations of sources both in text and in the reference section. Any direct quotes need to be acknowledged as such or is considered plagiarism. The most current edition of the APA Manual is required for educationally formatted papers.

Why documentation is important in Special Education

The recognition of the original source through in-text and referential citation gives the credit to the author. Plagiarism is theft of ideas and work.
