Introduction to the Text
Why Writing Works: Disciplinary Approaches to Composing Texts is an online, open textbook created for SMSU's English 251: Writing in Professions class. This class teaches students about writing in their academic field. The English program has been teaching this course since 2011, and students feel that it has benefited their writing in many ways.
Overwhelmingly, students feel that they learn valuable things about writing in the course.
