Documentation in Agricultural Education

Citation is important in Agricultural Education research. We use APA citation in Ag Ed. Citation is important within all research, but also when writing lesson plans, as the edTPA will ask students to connect research to the methodologies they choose for classroom instruction strategies.
Ag Ed is a little different from other disciplines because it has a foundation of Education, which is different than other disciplines in that it is very pragmatic. Therefore, the documentation that is needed typically asks the question why. Why are you using this method or strategy to teach your students? How has it been used in the past? Was it successful? What do philosophers and theorists say about Education and the way a student learns?
